In my pursuit for the perfect everyday nude lipstick, I scoured the internet for a cool toned pink based nude and thought I had struck gold when I came across Too Faced’s Melted Matte lipstick range and decided to give the shade ‘Child Star’ a go. After watching several reviews on YouTube I had high hopes (and I really was hoping considering I’ve never paid £20.00 for 7ml of ANYTHING before).
GOOD POINTS: As you can see above, the formula swatches beautifully, is highly pigmented and dries quickly.
BAD POINTS: Once applied and dried the formula cracks and for anyone with annoying lined lips like mine it stubbornly sets into every crease, which was SO disappointing.
The colour itself lasts nicely but midway through the day I found that the lipstick creates a gross foamy line on the lip, but this might just be due to the very pale colour creating build-up.
This is the first lip product I have used from Too Faced, and I don’t want to warn their Melted Matte lipsticks off but I can’t see myself sprinting to Debenhams for another one TBH.
The colour was really pretty but for the price point I was disappointed in the formula, sorry Too Faced!
OVERALL SCORE: 3/5
